Deploy with installer
2 minute read
This is also the recommended way to deploy in Azure.
Prerequisites
- A dedicated server running RHEL 8 or OL 8 that meets the Hardware guidelines. The installer removes any existing CMP data on the server.
- Root access to the server.
- The root user’s
umaskset to022. Runumaskto check it, andumask 022to set it for the current session. /usr/local/binin the root user’sPATH. Runecho $PATHto check it.- firewalld running, if you use it.
Download Cloud Management Platform
Cloud Management Platform Releases
- Go to the Releases page and select the latest release.
- Download the Installer, Upgrader, or OVA as required.
Install Cloud Management Platform
-
Copy the installer (
.tgzfile) to/var/tmpon the server. -
Switch to the root user:
sudo su - -
If SELinux is in enforcing mode, set it to permissive for the install. Run
getenforceto check the mode.setenforce 0 -
Extract the installer and run it. Replace
<installer_name>with the installer file name without.tgz, for example,cloudbolt_installer_v2026.3.78.cd /var/tmp tar xvf <installer_name>.tgz cd <installer_name> ./install_cloudbolt.shWhen prompted, enter Y to confirm. The installer runs in air-gapped mode by default. To download packages from the CloudBolt repository instead, add
--remote. -
Wait for the success message. The installer saves its log in
/var/log/cloudbolt/install/. -
If you changed the SELinux mode, set it back to enforcing:
setenforce 1 -
In a browser, go to https://<server address> and complete initial setup.
If the installer stops, it prints the reason, such as the umask or SELinux check. Fix the issue and run the installer again. For other errors, contact CloudBolt support.
If firewalld was stopped during the install, the installer could not open HTTP and HTTPS. Start firewalld and open them:
systemctl start firewalld
firewall-cmd --zone=public --permanent --add-service=http --add-service=https
firewall-cmd --reload
