Dashboard

The home page for Cloud Management Platform (CMP)

Dashboard widgets summarize your IT estate, and you can complete quick actions directly from them. The widgets and actions that appear depend on your permissions. To return to the dashboard at any time, select the CloudBolt logo in the navigation bar.

To send users to a different page after they log in, change Default Redirect in Admin > Miscellaneous Settings, then restart the web server.

Customize the dashboard

Each user has their own dashboard layout. Changes you make affect only your dashboard.

Add or remove widgets

  1. Select Add Widgets. If no widgets are displayed, select Display Widgets.
  2. In the Manage Displayed Widgets dialog, select the widgets you want to show and clear the ones you want to hide, then select Apply. The dashboard switches to edit mode.
  3. Select Save to keep your changes, or Undo to discard them.

When new UI extension widgets are installed, a number badge appears on Add Widgets.

Edit the layout

  1. Select Edit Layout.
  2. Make your changes:
    • Move a widget: drag the handle in the widget header.
    • Resize a widget: drag the widget’s lower-right corner.
    • Configure a widget: select the gear icon in the widget header to rename the widget or change its settings, then select Apply.
    • Remove a widget: select the gear icon, then select Remove widget.
  3. Select Save to keep your changes, or Undo to discard all changes since you began editing.

Collapse a widget

Select a widget’s header to collapse or expand it. CMP saves the change automatically.

Restore the default layout

Select Restore Default Layout, then select Restore. Your dashboard is replaced with the default layout for your role.

Set the default layout

Run this task only if you are a Super Admin.

The default layout is what users see the first time they open the dashboard, and what Restore Default Layout returns to. CMP has two default layouts:

  • Admin default: for Super Admins.
  • Non-admin default: for all other users.
  1. Select Edit Layout and arrange how the default dashboard should look.
  2. Select Set as Admin Default or Set as Non-Admin Default. CMP saves the layout as that default and as your own dashboard.

The Set as … Default buttons are unavailable when the browser window is narrower than 992 pixels.

Changing a default doesn’t change existing users’ dashboards. Users get the new default the next time they select Restore Default Layout.
