Veeam UI extension
2 minute read
Each server then gains a Veeam tab for backups and restores to AWS or Azure.
Veeam has its own admin page and server tab, and it does not use the Data Protection Plan parameter or the Data Protection tab.
Prerequisites
- A running Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager that CMP can reach. CMP talks to its REST API, which listens on port
9399by default. - An Enterprise Manager account, with its username and password.
- CMP administrator access for both the Library and the extension’s admin page.
Install the extension
- In the main menu, select Library.
- Type
Veeamin the search field, or browse to UI Extensions. - Select Veeam, then select Import.
CMP takes you to the Extensions Management page, which you can reach later from Admin > Manage UI Extensions.
Add the Veeam endpoint
Until you add an endpoint, the Veeam tab does not appear on servers.
-
Go to Admin > Veeam Management Integration.
-
Select Endpoint.
-
Complete the connection details:
Field Description Protocol HTTP or HTTPS. Defaults to HTTP. IP The address of the Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager. Port Defaults to 9399.Username and Password An Enterprise Manager account. -
Select Save.
The endpoint is tested before it is saved. If CMP cannot authenticate to the Enterprise Manager REST API with what you entered, it reports that it was unable to connect, and nothing is stored. CMP keeps the endpoint as a connection info record named Veeam Server Management Endpoint.
After the endpoint exists
The Admin > Veeam Management Integration page gains Dashboard, Jobs, and Backups tabs that display the jobs and backups reported by Veeam. The same page carries Edit, Verify Connection, and Delete buttons for the endpoint.
Servers gain a Veeam tab, where you can view restore points, take a backup, and restore a backup to AWS or Azure.
