# Veeam UI extension

> Veeam is available to Cloud Management Platform (CMP) as a UI extension: install it from the Library and point it at your Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager

Each server then gains a Veeam tab for backups and restores to AWS or Azure.

Veeam has its own admin page and server tab, and it does not use the Data Protection Plan parameter or the Data Protection tab.

## Prerequisites

- A running Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager that CMP can reach. CMP talks to its REST API, which listens on port `9399` by default.
- An Enterprise Manager account, with its username and password.
- CMP administrator access for both the Library and the extension's admin page.

## Install the extension

1. In the main menu, select **Library**.
1. Type `Veeam` in the search field, or browse to **UI Extensions**.
1. Select **Veeam**, then select **Import**.

CMP takes you to the Extensions Management page, which you can reach later from **Admin** > **Manage UI Extensions**.

## Add the Veeam endpoint

Until you add an endpoint, the Veeam tab does not appear on servers.

1. Go to **Admin** > **Veeam Management Integration**.
1. Select **Endpoint**.
1. Complete the connection details:

    | Field | Description |
    | --- | --- |
    | **Protocol** | HTTP or HTTPS. Defaults to HTTP. |
    | **IP** | The address of the Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager. |
    | **Port** | Defaults to `9399`. |
    | **Username** and **Password** | An Enterprise Manager account. |

1. Select **Save**.

The endpoint is tested before it is saved. If CMP cannot authenticate to the Enterprise Manager REST API with what you entered, it reports that it was unable to connect, and nothing is stored. CMP keeps the endpoint as a connection info record named *Veeam Server Management Endpoint*.

## After the endpoint exists

The **Admin** > **Veeam Management Integration** page gains **Dashboard**, **Jobs**, and **Backups** tabs that display the jobs and backups reported by Veeam. The same page carries **Edit**, **Verify Connection**, and **Delete** buttons for the endpoint.

Servers gain a **Veeam** tab, where you can view restore points, take a backup, and restore a backup to AWS or Azure.
