Resource Inventory

Browse, search, and filter your infrastructure from a single view

The Resource Inventory provides a unified view of the cloud resources deployed across your accounts and regions, with a page per cloud: AWS Resource Inventory and Azure Resource Inventory. GCP resource inventory is coming soon.

Access the Resource Inventory page

  1. Log in to the CloudBolt Platform.
  2. In the sidebar, select Resource Inventory to expand it, then choose AWS or Azure.

All resources view

Each cloud’s page displays all discovered resources in a searchable, filterable table.

  • Resource ID: The resource ARN or unique identifier, displayed in a shortened format with an option to copy the full value. Azure rows also show the Resource Name.
  • Resource Type: The specific resource type (for example, EC2 Instance or Lambda Function) with links to dedicated detail pages
  • Service: The cloud service (for example, EC2, Lambda, RDS, or S3)
  • Region: The deployment region
  • Account: The cloud account. Azure rows also show the Resource Group and Subscription.
  • Tags: Up to three resource tags, with an indicator for additional tags

Searching

Two search options are available:

  • Search box: Search by resource ID or ARN on AWS, or by resource name or ID on Azure. Supports partial matching, so you can paste a full identifier or type part of a name.
  • Tag filter: Filter by tag key and value to find matching resources.

Filtering

Use the filter bar to customize your view by any combination of the following dimensions:

  • Account
  • Region
  • Service
  • Resource Type
  • Tag (key and value)
  • And additional type-specific fields when viewing a resource type details page

The current view can be exported as CSV or JSON from the export menu next to the filter bar.

Resource type details

Select a resource type link from the table to open a dedicated details page. The table there shows the type’s key identity and placement columns; select any row to open a detail panel with the resource’s full record, grouped into Identity, Configuration, Placement, Details, and Tags sections. Complex attributes such as security-group rules render as readable tables rather than raw JSON. Security groups with rules open to the world (0.0.0.0/0) are called out in the panel.

Details pages are available for the following resource types:

Cloud Resource Type Example attributes
AWS EC2 Instances Instance type, state, platform, architecture, launch time
AWS EC2 Volumes Volume type, size, IOPS, encryption status, state
AWS EC2 VPCs CIDR block, state, tenancy
AWS EC2 Security Groups VPC ID, description, inbound and outbound rules
AWS ECS Clusters Status, running tasks, pending tasks, active services, registered instances
AWS Lambda Functions Runtime, memory size, timeout, code size, handler, last modified
AWS RDS Instances Engine, engine version, instance class, storage type, allocated storage, multi-AZ, encryption
AWS S3 Buckets Creation date, versioning status, encryption type
Azure Virtual Machines Size, operating system, power state
Azure Managed Disks SKU, size, state, encryption
Azure Storage Accounts Kind, SKU, access tier, replication
Azure AKS Clusters Version, node pools, network profile

Data freshness

Resource inventory data refreshes automatically. The underlying data pipeline ingests snapshots from your cloud accounts, and the inventory reflects the most recent snapshot available for each account. The page header shows the last ingestion date and a freshness status indicator that warns when data is stale.
