Set up and install the ServiceNow Connector

Prerequisites

A ServiceNow instance. See Supported Versions for compatibility information.
A ServiceNow MID Server set up, installed, and configured. A ServiceNow user with the role mid_server must exist:
1. Go to User Administration > Users.
2. Create or edit a user.
  
  If creating a new user, save the user first before assigning roles.
3. Select Roles > Edit.
4. Add mid_server to the Roles List.
5. Select Save.
Verify that the MID Server has been successfully configured, that the MID Server service is started and running, and that the MID Server is validated with a status of Up in ServiceNow.

Catalog item policies

Prerequisites

Create a Module Credential using a ServiceNow user that has the role x_sovla_onefuse.admin.
Create a ServiceNow Endpoint. If applicable, configure ServiceNow proxy support.
OneFuse policies: when using the OneFuse Aria Automation Module, it is recommended that the Aria Automation 8 Policy executes successfully with the ServiceNow CMDB policy attached to the vRA Cloud Template.

Create a ServiceNow Catalog Item Policy

In OneFuse, select ServiceNow Connector from Home, or select Modules > ServiceNow Connector from the left navigation menu.
Find the ServiceNow Catalog Item Policies table.
Select Create.
Fill out the ServiceNow Catalog Item Policy form.

Update a ServiceNow Catalog Item Policy

Note the following limitations when updating a policy:

Prerequisites

Create a ServiceNow Catalog Item Policy.
A ServiceNow Admin has configured the associated ServiceNow Catalog Item for their ServiceNow end-users.

Execute OneFuse ServiceNow Connector via ServiceNow

Log in to ServiceNow.
Find the Service Catalog created via the OneFuse ServiceNow Catalog Item Policy.
Select the Service Catalog to request it.
Fill out the Service Catalog Inputs, if any.
Select Order Now.
Select the Request Number to track the status.
Once the request succeeds, track the deployment in ServiceNow.

The Service Catalog will request the ServiceNow Flow: Execute OneFuse Connector Policy Wrapper, which calls Subflow: Execute OneFuse Connector Policy.

The flow will mark the request as Closed Complete if it was successful and Closed Incomplete if it failed.

Tracking ServiceNow Connector deployments

Track deployments created by ServiceNow Connector Policy executions. While executing, you can track progress in the Jobs log.

View deployments in OneFuse

Log in to the OneFuse UI.
Select Modules > ServiceNow Connector from the left navigation menu.
Scroll down to ServiceNow Connector Deployments. Each deployment shows:
- Created Date
- Source
- Source IP
- Requester
- Policy
- Child Policy
- Managed Object
- Link to Job
- Link to Job Tracking ID
- Select Details to view:
  - OneFuse Policy Type
  - Link to Deployment CI in ServiceNow
  - OneFuse Managed Object HREF
