The OneFuse Microsoft IPAM module enables organizations who utilize Microsoft for centralized IP address management to have a fully automated method of obtaining and releasing IP addresses as the cloud environment dynamically scales. IP subnets can now easily be shared between deployments and alongside existing tools and devices without fear of IP conflict.

This Module requires the Microsoft IPAM License in order to execute a Microsoft [IPAM Policy](/docs/onefuse/configure/modules/ipam/#ipam-policy-form). Microsoft IPAM Policies, Endpoints, and Module Credentials can be created without a license.

## Setup overview

1. Create a [Module Credential](/docs/onefuse/configure/module-credentials/) for Microsoft IPAM.
2. Create a [Microsoft Endpoint](/docs/onefuse/configure/module-endpoints/#microsoft) and add IPAM defaults.
3. Define an IPAM Policy with a Microsoft Endpoint.
4. Execute the IPAM Policy to reserve and release IP addresses through the [OneFuse API](https://app.swaggerhub.com/apis-docs/cloudbolt/OneFuse/) or an [Upstream Provider](/docs/onefuse/consume/what-is-upstream-provider/).

## Create a Microsoft IPAM policy

1. Access the IPAM Policies dashboard.
2. Select **+ Create**.
3. Fill out the [IPAM policy form](/docs/onefuse/configure/modules/ipam/#ipam-policy-form) with a **Microsoft** Endpoint.
4. Select **Create**.

## Update a Microsoft IPAM policy

Update a Microsoft IPAM Policy to change any of the fields from the [IPAM policy form](/docs/onefuse/configure/modules/ipam/#ipam-policy-form) with a Microsoft Endpoint. The IPAM Endpoint cannot be changed from the original Endpoint chosen during Policy creation.

1. Access the IPAM Policies dashboard.
2. Find the Policy to update and select the edit button.
3. Edit the name, description, subnet(s), or DNS information on the IPAM Policy form.
4. Select **Update**.

## View a Microsoft IPAM policy

View a Microsoft IPAM Policy to see the configured fields and Policy ID.

1. Access the IPAM Policy dashboard.
2. Find the Policy to view and select the view button.
3. View the information on the Microsoft IPAM Policy form.
4. Select **Cancel** to return to the dashboard.

## Delete a Microsoft IPAM policy

A Microsoft IPAM Policy cannot be deleted if it is associated with any existing IP addresses.

1. Access the IPAM Policy dashboard.
2. Find the Policy to delete and select the delete button.
3. Select **Delete** to confirm.

## Reserve/release IP addresses

Use the [OneFuse API](https://app.swaggerhub.com/apis-docs/cloudbolt/OneFuse/) to reserve and release IP addresses through the execution of a Microsoft IPAM Policy. OneFuse will attempt to find the first available IP address in the first subnet. If no IP address is found, OneFuse will select the next subnet the user defined. Specify subnets in the order in which the subnet should fill up.

### Policy ID

The Policy ID is required to reserve and release IP addresses.

1. Access the IPAM Policy dashboard.
2. Find the Policy you are executing through the API.
3. Select the view button.
4. Reference the Details box to locate the Policy ID.
