## Shared responsibility notice

CMP uses a shared responsibility model. CloudBolt maintains the CMP appliance software, while customers are responsible for securing and maintaining the infrastructure and environments where it is deployed.

## Choose a deployment option

Check the [Hardware guidelines](/docs/cmp/system-architecture/hardware-guidelines/), then choose one of these options:

- [Deploy a virtual appliance](/docs/cmp/get-started/install/deploy-a-virtual-appliance/): Deploy the CMP OVA to VMware vSphere or Citrix XenServer, then configure it at the console.
- [Deploy with installer](/docs/cmp/get-started/install/deploy-with-installer/): Install CMP on an existing RHEL 8 or OL 8 server. This is also the recommended way to deploy in Azure.
- [Deploy in AWS](/docs/cmp/get-started/install/deploy-in-aws/): Launch CMP from AWS Marketplace.

## Download the installer, upgrader, or OVA

[Cloud Management Platform Releases](https://support.cloudbolt.io/cloudbolt/s/topic/0TO5c000001MolrGAC/releases)

1. Go to the Releases page and select the latest release.
1. Download the Installer, Upgrader, or OVA as required.

## Air-gapped installation

The OVA, installer, and upgrader include all required packages, so they run in air-gapped mode by default. To download packages from the CloudBolt repository instead, run the installer or upgrader with `--remote`.

## After you deploy

1. [Complete initial setup](/docs/cmp/get-started/complete-initial-setup/).
1. [Explore CMP features](/docs/cmp/get-started/explore-features/).

CMP includes a free tier license, so a new appliance is ready to use once you complete initial setup. See [Product license](/docs/cmp/configure/administration/product-license/).
