Each configuration manager maintains a connection to a single management server and serves the environments you associate with it. Servers built in those environments pick up the requester's chosen content from the order form, and that content can be applied or removed later from a server's detail page or the server list. You manage them at **Admin** > **Configuration Managers**, which is available to administrators with the **Manage Configuration Managers** permission.

## Type availability

Selecting **Add** opens a dialog of tiles:

- **Ansible** is always available.
- **Ansible Automation Platform** is available unless its feature flag is disabled, and shows a Beta label.
- **Chef**, **Puppet Enterprise**, and **Puppet Open Source** appear only where a configuration manager of that type exists.
