There are two utilities:

cb_import: Import files and directories to CMP instances

cb_export: Archive and compress files and directories into a single .tar.gz file

Access utilities

On a CMP instance, you can access the import and export utility scripts from the following location:

/opt/cloudbolt/manage.py
/opt/cloudbolt/manage.py cb_export
/opt/cloudbolt/manage.py cb_import

Export utility

By default, cb_export includes the following directories:

VARDIR/opt/cloudbolt
, where
VARDIR
is defined in Django settings

MEDIA_ROOT
and
STATIC_TESTS_DIR
, where each is defined in Django settings

Specific files and directories can be included or excluded as required.

Cloud Management Platform (CMP) supports two maintenance modes:

Admin-only: Only CMP admins can use the CMP UI and API

Full: No one can use the CMP UI and API, and jobs cannot run

Admin-only maintenance mode

When Admin-only mode is enabled, all non-admin CMP users are logged out, and a message displays on all pages. Jobs are uninterrupted.

Non-admins cannot log in while the mode is enabled, including through SSO. The login page tells them that only admins can log in.

Upgrade to PostgreSQL 18

PostgreSQL 14 reaches end of life in November 2026 and will no longer receive security or bug fixes. PostgreSQL 18 is supported until November 2030.

The upgrade is optional and separate. Upgrading CMP does not upgrade the database. CMP continues to work on PostgreSQL 14 until you upgrade.

New installations use PostgreSQL 18. No action is required for a new CMP installation.

The upgrade requires downtime. CMP is unavailable while the database is upgraded, so schedule the upgrade in a maintenance window.

Upgrade scripts

The scripts are included in CMP 2026.3.97 and later, in the top level of the unpacked installer and upgrader. Run each script from that directory. The PostgreSQL 18 packages are included in the upgrader, so the scripts work on servers without internet access and on database servers without CMP installed.
