The Cloud Management Platform (CMP) **upgraders** are distributed as `.tgz` archives, available from the **[CMP UI](#from-the-ui)** and the **[CloudBolt Support Portal](#from-the-support-portal)**.

The upgrader is designed to persist your customizations and configuration; however, new features may require post-upgrade configuration.

A CMP upgrade comprises the following steps:

1. **Download** the upgrader.
1. **Run** the upgrade script.
1. **Check** the version.

## Prerequisites

Before upgrading:

- Review the **[release notes](/docs/cmp/about/releases/)**
- Ensure you have sufficient **disk space** for the upgrade
- **Backup** your CMP instance and any external databases

Review **[Upgrading to Release 2026.2: Framework changes and compatibility](/docs/cmp/configure/administration/maintain/upgrade/release-2026-2/)** before proceeding.
