If the person does not have a CloudBolt account yet, CloudBolt automatically sends them an email invitation. Until they accept it and sign in, their row shows an **Invited** badge and their role cannot be changed. For the invitation-acceptance steps from the new user's side, see [Manage users](/docs/cbp/getting-started/manage-organizations-users-roles/users/).

## Change a user's role

Change a user's role inline using the **Role** dropdown in their row. The dropdown becomes available once the user has signed in. Users managed by an external enterprise identity provider show a read-only role that cannot be changed here.

## Remove a user

Select the trash icon in the user's row, then confirm the "Confirm removal of user…" prompt. Removal takes effect immediately; there is no separate deactivate option.
