# Summary Report

> An executive, single-month summary of one organization's cost and posture

Site [llms.txt](/llms.txt)

---

Summary reports live in the reports library alongside your other reports and have a **Summary** type badge. See [Saved Reports](/docs/cbp/navigating-the-platform/saved-reports/).

## Create a summary report

1. Go to **Saved Reports**.
1. Open the **New report** dropdown and select **New summary report**.
1. In the dialog, set:
    - **Organization** (required): Search for and select the organization to report on.
    - **Date Range**: **Dynamic** (always the most recently completed month) or **Static** (pick a month).

The report name is derived automatically, for example, "Acme summary report - Last month."

## Report sections

The on-screen report shows **Cover**, **Cost**, **Commitments**, **Optimization**, and **Inventory** sections, with **Edit report criteria**, scheduling, and export actions in the header.

<div class="alert alert-info" role="alert">

Data is scoped to the selected organization. Some payer-level figures, such as AWS commitment utilization and coverage, appear as "—" in organization-scoped reports because they exist only at the billing-account level.
</div>

## Export a summary report

Export a summary report as **PDF**, **PowerPoint (.pptx)**, or **Excel (.xlsx)**. Exports render the full deliverable. When Security & Compliance is enabled for your tenant, the exported document adds security and compliance pages:

- A findings summary by severity.
- Top findings, with category and subscription breakdowns.
- Per-framework compliance scores, including projected frameworks and their coverage notes.
- A 90-day compliance trend.

<div class="alert alert-info" role="alert">

The security and compliance pages appear only in the exported document, not on screen.
</div>

## Schedule email delivery

Summary reports can be scheduled for email delivery like any saved report. See [Saved Reports](/docs/cbp/navigating-the-platform/saved-reports/) for schedule settings, cadences, and the **Scheduled reports** page.
