To **add a connection**, visit [Connect cloud accounts](/docs/cbp/getting-started/connect-cloud-accounts/).
</div>

## View connections

To view connections:

1. Go to **Settings** > **Connections**.
1. Connections are grouped by cloud provider. Each provider section (AWS, Azure, GCP) has a header with the provider logo and name, a **search box**, and an **Add Connection** button.

### Connection rows

Each connection appears as a single row:

| Item | Description |
| --- | --- |
| Name | Connection name, provided at creation time. |
| Status | Connection health badge: **Healthy**, **Failing**, **Pending**, or **Not yet checked**. |
| Accounts | The number of cloud accounts covered by the connection, for example, **167 accounts**. Select the count to view per-account status. |
| Actions | **Test Connection**, **Manage**, and a **⋯** (more actions) menu containing **Disconnect**. AWS connections also offer **Re-Sync**. |

- Use the **search box** in a provider's section header to filter that provider's connections by name or ID.

### Connection details and health checks

Rows are collapsed by default. Select the chevron on a row to expand the connection in place. The expanded region shows:

- **Identity details**.
- The time the connection was **last checked**.
- The **health checks** table.

## Test a connection

To run health checks on demand:

1. Go to **Settings** > **Connections**.
1. Locate a connection.
1. Select **Test Connection**.
1. Expand the row to view the updated health checks and the last checked time. The status badge reflects the result.

## Re-sync an AWS connection

**Re-Sync** applies to AWS connections. CloudBolt reads the deployed CloudFormation stack and recreates any missing cost report exports.

Re-sync a connection after you update your CloudBolt CloudFormation stack or if any cost report exports were deleted in AWS.

To re-sync an AWS connection:

1. Go to **Settings** > **Connections**.
1. Locate an AWS connection.
1. Select **Re-Sync**.
1. Confirm when prompted.
1. Expand the row to view the updated status and last checked time.

Refer to [Connect AWS](/docs/cbp/getting-started/connect-cloud-accounts/aws/) for the exports CloudBolt creates.

## View per-account status

To view the status of each cloud account covered by a connection:

1. Go to **Settings** > **Connections**.
1. Locate a connection.
1. Select the **account count** on the row. The **Accounts for {connection name}** modal displays with **ID**, **Name**, and **Status** columns.

| Status | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| Healthy | The account is passing its health checks. |
| Failing | The account's health checks are failing and need attention. |
| Pending | Health checks for the account have not been completed yet. |
| Not Configured | CloudBolt was not deployed to this account. For example, member accounts when only the management account has the CloudBolt cross-account role. This is not an error and does not count against connection health. |

## Edit a connection

Editable fields vary depending on the cloud provider.
</div>

To edit a connection:

1. Go to **Settings** > **Connections**.
1. Locate a connection.
1. Select **Manage** on the row. The edit modal displays.
1. Update the necessary fields.
1. Select **Save**.

## Disconnect a connection

Disconnecting a connection cannot be undone.
</div>

To disconnect a connection:

1. Go to **Settings** > **Connections**.
1. Locate a connection.
1. Open the **⋯** (more actions) menu on the row and select **Disconnect**.
1. Confirm when prompted.

<div class="alert alert-info" role="alert">

Disconnecting removes the connection from CloudBolt. It does not delete resources in your cloud account. For AWS, the CloudFormation stack, S3 bucket, IAM roles, and cost report exports remain in place. Delete the stack in AWS if you no longer need those resources.
